Sustainability Statement
Please note that the Sustainability Statement was last revised on Nov 29, 2025
SEL DEVELO, Inc. (“SEL DEVELO,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to building technology that not only supports human development but also respects the environment and promotes long-term sustainability. While Growth Lab™ is a digital-first platform, we recognize our responsibility to minimize our environmental footprint and operate with integrity.
Although our platform is digital-first, every decision we make aims to minimize unnecessary energy consumption, resource waste, and long-term ecological impact.
1. Sustainability Digital Infrastructure
Growth Lab™ runs on cloud infrastructure rather than school hardware or on-premise systems.
This approach provides substantial environmental advantages:
-
Data centers used by SEL DEVELO’s cloud providers run on increasingly renewable energy sources.
-
Shared, elastic compute reduces waste associated with oversized servers or dedicated equipment.
-
Automatic scaling ensures resources are used only when needed, preventing unnecessary energy consumption.
By choosing cloud-native architecture, SEL DEVELO benefits from the efficiency, sustainability commitments, and continual improvements made by leading infrastructure providers.
2. Low-Waste, Fully Digital Design
SEL DEVELO intentionally avoids physical materials, printed curricula, and mailed content.
Lessons, updates, avatars, assessments, and educator tools all exist digitally, which reduces environmental strain in several ways:
-
No textbooks or consumables that require printing or distribution
-
No packaging, shipping, or transportation emissions
-
No hardware installations for schools — Growth Lab™ works on devices already in classrooms
This digital-only approach is a core sustainability principle for us: create meaningful learning experiences without generating physical waste.
3. Efficiency in Software and User Experience
Sustainability also informs how we design and build the platform itself. Every feature is evaluated not only for educational value, but also for its computational footprint.
We favor:
-
Light, optimized graphics over heavy or unnecessary animations
-
Data models that avoid storing excess or duplicated information
-
Fast loading, low-bandwidth performance for equitable access and energy savings
-
Thoughtful design that reduces the need for compute-intensive operations
Efficient software is both better for users and inherently better for the environment.
4. Responsible Internal Operations
As SEL DEVELO grows, we approach internal operations with awareness and intentionality. We rely on digital workflows, efficient tooling, and thoughtful resource management to reduce unnecessary waste while still supporting an ambitious, innovation-driven culture. Our operational choices prioritize effectiveness first, while incorporating sustainable practices wherever they naturally align with our mission and growth.
5. Responsible Vendor and Partner Standards
Sustainability extends beyond our internal practices. We prioritize working with vendors, cloud providers, and service partners that demonstrate:
-
Clear environmental commitments
-
Transparent reporting about energy consumption and renewable usage
-
Ethical supply chain practices
-
Dedication to long-term ecological responsibility
These considerations are built into our vendor evaluations as SEL DEVELO grows.
6. Continuous Commitment to Improvement
Environmental responsibility evolves, and so will we. As technology, research, and industry standards progress, SEL DEVELO will continue to refine its sustainability practices, explore new ways to reduce footprint, and incorporate more environmentally-conscious choices into how Growth Lab™ is developed and delivered. We welcome suggestions from educators, partners, and community members who share our commitment to long-term sustainability.
